Cycle Ride & Pedestrian Walk in Ouranopoulis

The Citizens' Initiative for the preservation of natural and cultural heritage of the region borders of Mount Athos, together with the Colorful Cyclists, the Thessaloniki Cyclists and the Association for the Rights of Pedestrians are the organizations behind the first Cycle Ride & Pedestrian Walk of Ouranopoulis. The event will take place on the 20th of August.

The area between Ierisos and the border of mount Athos has been labeled as an “area of exceptional natural beauty” by the greek ministry of culture, in 1991.

Inside that area you can also visit the 2500 years old Xerxes’ Canal which is the only Persian monument in european soil.
